Jesus Market

Remembering the Reason for the Season

December is a time of immense celebration for Christians worldwide as we commemorate the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. It’s a season filled with hope, joy, and the warmth of family gatherings. Yet, amidst the festive lights and Christmas carols, we are mindful that this special time can be a source of stress and sadness for many. For countless families, the joy of a lavish Christmas meal or the excitement of holiday gifts is simply a dream, not a reality.

Our senior pastor, Sam Adeosun, understands this struggle on a deeply personal level. Having come from a humble background himself, he is passionate about ensuring that no home is left behind during this beautiful season. This passion has given birth to one of our most heartwarming outreach programs: the "Jesus Market." It’s our way of extending the love of Christ by putting a smile on every child's face and ensuring every family has a blessed Christmas feast.

Welcome to the Jesus Market: Christmas with Dignity

The Jesus Market is our annual Christmas event designed to be a fun, festive, and dignified way of providing essential groceries to families in need. Held every December, this event transforms into a vibrant market where families can come to "buy" a special Christmas package. It's not a typical giveaway; it’s an empowering experience where every participant contributes in a small, symbolic way.

Each family has the opportunity to purchase a comprehensive Christmas package for a nominal fee of just N100 (approximately £0.05 or $0.06). This small amount allows us to maintain the dignity of those receiving help, turning a handout into a purchase. Each package is always valued between £30-£45 (an equivalent of $40-$60, or N60,000-90,000) and is packed with everything a family needs for a wonderful Christmas meal, including:

*Rice: A staple for any festive meal

*Eggs & Meat: Key ingredients for rich, nourishing dishes

*Groceries: A variety of other food items we can secure to complete the package

The atmosphere at the Jesus Market is always filled with energy and fun. It's a time for our community to come together, share in the spirit of Christmas, and witness firsthand the power of collective generosity. We see the joy on the faces of parents who can now provide a special meal for their children, and it's a powerful reminder of why we do what we do.
