ONE DAY, ONE FOLD, AND 4 TYPES OF PRAYERS.

As we prepare for the forthcoming worldwide prayer session on Friday 30th of April 2021, I want you to remember the word of the apostle Paul in the book of 1 Timothy 2:1-4: “I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; for kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.”
We learn from these passages that God wants His children to offer up four kinds of prayers or petitions to Him, including supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks. Therefore, don’t be surprised that this special prayer program will consist of all that, so I am explaining what each of the prayer types means.
Supplication: A “supplication” is asking God to supply a need. An example is found in Matthew 6:11, where Jesus taught His disciples to pray, “Give us this day our daily bread.” Note that we are all going to ask God for amazing provision.
Prayer: “Prayer” is the general term used to refer to an address directed to God. In this section, we are going to send our petition to God about very private matters. Matters that are very personal and such matters can only be directed at our Creator.
Intercession: An “intercession” is requesting on behalf of someone else. Our prayers are not complete if we are unable to intercede for others. I sure will intercede on your behalf, and I expect you to do the same for our ministry.
Giving of Thanks: “Giving of thanks” is expressing gratitude to God for His blessings. Giving thanks is also a three-fold offer. a). Thanking Him for His provision and grace to give to Sam Adeosun Ministry International and Mercygate Gospel Church. b). Thanking God for fulfilling His promises over us and, c). Thanking Him for His promises of Harvest in 2021.
Lastly, let me reiterate that I value your contribution to our ministry and, most especially, your heart of giving. I desire that God keep blessing you, protect you, guide, guard, and expose you to His abundance Mercy always.
NOTE: Please note that you are expected to fast along if you are not pregnant, sick, or a nursing mother. Let those who are not under these categories make fasting mandatory during this prayer day.
