Calvary greetings to you,

We at Mercygate Gospel Church and Sam Adeosun Ministry International identify with our members and we encourage them to intimate us about their needs, challenges, and pains. However, we also find it essential, as leaders on our part, to keep you informed of challenges, needs, and pains, unlike false prophets and fake pastors who pretend to be superhuman, who can never be tired, sick, or even die. This they claim they can do due to a form of supernatural powers they have.
Even our dear Apostle Paul was not ashamed to inform the Church about his weird illness when he said in the book of 2 Cor. 12:7-10, “or because of these surpassingly great revelations. Therefore, in order to keep me from becoming conceited, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me. Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. But He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness. Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.” (NIV). Another example of a servant of God who never hid his physical shortcoming or illness was Moses, a stammerer. When He was in the flesh, our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ Himself exhibited some form of physical exhaustion and tiredness. John 4:6 says “Jacob’s well was there, and Jesus, tired as he was from the journey, sat down by the well. It was about noon” (NIV). Not only that, He showed some form of human emotion when He cried at a point in His life – John 11:35
All these points to the fact that we as humans are not invincible, not immortal, and definitely can and will fall sick, weak, and may even die.
In order to make the ministry of ‘Ohun Aanu’ move smoothly and more rewarding, we must put some information out there so that we all understand how best to assist and pray for us so that the work of God will run swiftly.
Brethren, since October 2020, those of us closest to Pastor Sam started noticing that he was getting slower, weaker, and unable to do things which he would normally do easily before then. All efforts to make him well, including constant prayers and giving quality medical care, seem not to work, and painfully, every effort to make him stop working even at a fast pace seems not heeded. Although we know that his main passion is to preach the gospel and win as many souls for Christ as possible, we also know that when it comes to the things of God, he is stubbornly unyielding.
We took him to see many health professionals in Nigeria between January and March 2021, but his improvement was not visible.  None of the people, including medical doctors and nutritionists, were able to identify reasons for his weight loss, loss of appetite, unable to breathe properly, and always tired. Instead, they all based their findings on assumptions. We met and concluded that since the world still needs him, we needed to change our approach to caring for him. Though it was good news, we were startled when he revealed a new mandate he received from God that “work is just starting.”
The new approach to take care of him required him to take a month off work to focus on his health and for him to forge ahead In the business of God.
This time he obliged, hence his announcement during the PrayerLife program of Wednesday, June 30th, 2021 on Mercygate Radio.
On the evening of Sunday, the 4th of July 2021, Pastor Sam was admitted into one of the University hospitals in London, UK. Initially, the doctors assumed he had a new form of Covid-19 variant. However, after having 4 Covid tests between Sunday the 4th and Monday the 5th, all tests returned negative.
Several tests were conducted, and by the afternoon of Wednesday, July 7th, 2021, things were getting clearer on exactly what the medical issue was. The sole reason for all the medical issues is years of labor without rest and non-stop work in the ministry. This outcome validated our suspicion all along. We also learned that his blood pressure was dangerously high and has caused something called Pulmonary Hypertension. In a layman’s language, it means that his lungs were also hypertensive.
To the glory of God, about 90% of the damage has been rectified, and we thank God that He placed him in the hands of good doctors and professionals at the hospital. Though more tests are due to be conducted, we are grateful to God that Pastor Sam is out of the woods and he’s getting better by the day.
However, because he is not 100% fit and because we will not want to return to the dark days of sickness, required changes will be coming because they are needed.  After looking closely at how he works, he has decided to stop using mobile phones to receiving calls or chat on social media. We have put in place a form of filter that will only allow messages or calls that none of us can handle. We believe that Pastor Sam has given us so many tools to help us navigate our journey in life, and we are also convinced that serious-minded Christians will agree with our decisions.
We believe that this is the best option to keep him within the healthy range as suggested by his doctors and assist him in doing the work of God in good health and sound mind. We also encourage you that instead of sharing Pastor Sam’s contact details, kindly share his programs so that others will grow in Christ, as he has clearly stated severally that his ministry is not to build babies who will refuse to grow in faith.
We thank all those who are patient with him during this challenging period and appreciate all those who support Pastor Sam’s ministry and Mercygate Gospel Church. Presently, Pastor Sam is recovering, and work will surely start from August 1st, 2021, by God’s grace.
We pray that the kingdom of darkness will keep failing in Jesus’ name – Amen.

Yours in the Vineyard of God,
